Georgian PM sends condolences over death of actor Ketevan Kiknadze

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday expressed condolences to the family, relatives and colleagues of actor Ketevan Kiknadze, who died at the age of 85.

Kobakhidze said he was saddened by the passing of the theatre, cinema and TV artist, who he said would remain an “outstanding figure in the history of Georgian performing art”.

The artistic images created by Ms. Ketevan Kiknadze have been embraced and taken in by generations of viewers. She will forever remain an exceptional figure in the history of the Georgian art of acting. I extend my sympathy to Ketevan Kiknadze's family, loved ones, and colleagues”, he noted.

Kiknadze joined Marjanishvili Theatre in Tbilisi in 1959 and was also cast in over 16 feature films and TV series. She was awarded the state Order of Honour in 1999.
