Defence Ministry launches inquiry after air crash kills Defence Forces pilot

The Georgian Ministry of Defence has launched an inquiry after an air crash involving an Su-25 ground attack aircraft killed a Defence Forces pilot on Tuesday.

Kakhaber Zurabashvili, an Aviation and Air Command pilot, died following the crash that took place during a planned exercise, the body said.

It also extended condolences to the family of the pilot and added its related services were running a “detailed investigation” to establish the circumstances of the crash.
