Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Saturday claimed “building democratic and functioning institutions, increasing citizens’ prosperity are what matter” to the Georgian Government, adding “facts say it all - Georgia leads in both dimensions”.
In his social media post, he cited recently published statistics of the first five months of this year indicating a “notable” 9.3 percent economic growth in Georgia.
Papuashvili emphasised Georgia “continues its solid” economic performance, recording the “highest” economic growth "among the European Union candidate countries and the EU itself", adding the country also ranked the “highest” position among the EU candidate countries in the Rule of Law Index of the World Justice Project and in Corruption Perception Index in the latest edition released by Transparency International.
