Levan Ioseliani, the Georgian Public Defender, on Thursday discussed cooperation with Michael O'Faherty, the newly elected Commissioner of Council of Europe for Human Rights in Strasbourg.
At their introductory meeting, Ioseliani congratulated O’Faherty on his election to the position, the Public Defender’s Office said.
The meeting also discussed the human rights situation in Georgia and “fruitful” relations between the national body and the Commissioner’s office.
O’Faherty expressed his willingness to “deepen the multi-year cooperation”.
