Georgia’s Emergency Management Service has opened a field operation centre in the country's eastern Kakheti region, the body said on Tuesday.
The centre was launched to safeguard seasonal grain harvesting from increased risks of fire, it explained while warning the public against starting fires in agricultural fields and near forests.
It also urged citizens to call the Ministry’s Public Security Management Center in cases of noticing smoke or fire.
The Service noted it had mobilised additional forces in village Omalo in eastern Georgia’s Akhmeta municipality with special equipment and manpower for the purpose of enhanced monitoring.
