The first group of Georgian football fans travelled to Dusseldorf on Sunday to attend Euro 2024 games of the national team in Germany with airline tickets subsidised by the country’s Government, the Georgian Ministry of Economy said.

The supporters departed from Tbilisi International Airport, with Eurowings, Wizz Air, Hi Sky and Georgian Wings offering charter flights to Germany from Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports.

The subsidised flights have been adjusted to the schedule of matches of the Georgian team, with the Ministry adding 17 flights had been scheduled to Dortmund, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Cologne, with 5,220 tickets sold so far.

The passengers need to present the tickets for football match attendance at the airports for registration to receive subsidised tickets, with only Georgian citizens eligible.

The price of one-way subsidised tickets is ₾598 (€195), while round-trip tickets have been set at ₾1196 (€390).

Supporters will attend the first group stage match of the national team against Turkey at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund on Tuesday.
