A batch of NATO-standard Vuran armoured personnel carriers have been delivered to the Georgian Defence Forces from Turkey, the Ministry of Defence said on Wednesday.
The body added the delivery completed a 2022 agreement signed between the Ministry and the Turkish company ASFAT.
The handover of the vehicles took place at the training ground of the 4th Infantry Brigade at the Vaziani military base outside Tbilisi.
The Ministry said the addition of the vehicles to the Defence Forces would “significantly enhance” the country’s defence capabilities and strengthen its cooperation with Turkey.
