The Finance and Budget Committee of the Georgian Parliament on Monday endorsed a ₾87.3 million ($31.29 million) 2025 budget for the legislative body, marking a ₾15.5 million ($5.56 million) increase from 2024.
Presenting key aspects of the budget to Committee members, Shota Goshadze, the Deputy Secretary General, said the draft budget was taking into account proposals from units of the Parliament and considered existing and projected trends, the body said.
The Central Election Commission of Georgia had submitted a budget request for ₾125.348 million ($44.93mln), with the State Audit Service’s budget remaining unchanged at ₾23.86 million ($8.55mln) and the National Library of the Parliament having sought funds of ₾14.69 million ($5.27mln), an increase of ₾1.86 million ($0.67mln).
The budget of the legislative body’s State Council of Heraldry will remain unchanged at ₾639,100 ($229,094), similarly to the Research Centre, which will have a budget of ₾1.3 million ($0.47mln).
