Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday “strongly condemned” a “shameful attack” on his Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen, after the latter was struck by a man while walking in central Copenhagen on Friday night.
“Use of violence in politics is unacceptable and has no place in a civilised world”, the PM noted, wishing Frederiksen recovery.
According to media reports, the Danish PM suffered a light whiplash injury in the assault. She was taken to a hospital for a check-up, with her official schedule cancelled for the day. The assailant was arrested by police immediately following the incident.
