Firefighters of the Emergency Situations Management Service of Georgia’s Interior Ministry have completed water rescue training led by instructors of the Polish non-profit ICAD foundation, the Ministry said on Friday.

The professionals of the Service’s Department in the southern Samtskhe-Javakheti region were involved in the training held on Mtkvari River in the country’s central-western resort town of Borjomi.

The crews underwent five-day theoretical and practical training, including on pulling people out of water during rescue operations.

The project is implemented within the framework of the Polish grant programme and serves to develop rescue operation capabilities in Georgia’s regions.
