Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said he would meet James O’Brien, the United States Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs on Tuesday to discuss visa liberalisation for Georgian citizens, a free trade agreement and direct flights between the two countries during the American official’s visit to Tbilisi.
The PM also said Government officials would also meet with chairs of foreign relations committees of Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania during their visits to the country.
He said the meetings “demonstrate our attitude towards international partners” and “desire to have a constant dialogue” with them.
The main thing is to see a proper, fair, dignified attitude towards our country. Our attitude towards our partners is always like this - always based on dignity, justice, [and] correct approaches. The main thing is to see the same attitude from our partners", Kobakhidze added.
The PM also said the delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag included two unspecified lawmakers with whom it was “generally pointless to meet based on their past activities”.
