Local residents stumbled upon a surprising find - a brown bear cub, near Mtirala National Park, a protected area in Georgia’s west, the country’s Agency of Protected Areas said on Saturday.
With the involvement of the rangers of the National Park and the employees of the State Sub-Agency Department of Environmental Supervision, the bear cub was handed over to the Batumi Zoological Park for further care.
According to the Agency, the cub's return to the natural environment was dangerous since it was only a month old.
