Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani on Friday said the statements made by German high officials confirmed that the country would continue to support Georgia’s territorial integrity and European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Commenting on the official visit of the Georgian delegation, led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, to Berlin, Chikovani highlighted the high-level cooperation in the field of defence and security with Germany, which had been discussed during the meetings with the German officials.
In recent years, we have had a particularly growing dynamic, and there is willingness to maintain this dynamic and continue cooperation, which will contribute to the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of our country, as well as to the strengthening of our country’s defence forces”, he emphasised.
The first official visit of the Georgian PM included meetings with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the country’s President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Bärbel Bas, the President of the Bundestag.
