Georgian PM discusses current governance system with students of Kutaisi Int’l University

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday delivered a public lecture at the Kutaisi International University, discussing the current governance system and political processes in Georgia.

After the lecture, Kobakhidze, together with Education Minister Giorgi Amilakhvari and the University staff, inspected the campus, located on 180 hectares, which includes modern laboratories, libraries, shared workspaces, cafeterias, an interactive learning management system and infrastructure essential for high-quality teaching and research.

The Head of the Government also got acquainted with the construction process of a new academic building on the KIU campus, with the auditoriums, laboratories, administrative offices and conference halls to be arranged in the building, the Government Administration said.

Kutaisi University, which received its first stream of students in the fall of 2020 and enrols more than 1,200 students, was a charitable mega-project financed by the International Charity Foundation Cartu, founded by Bidzina Ivanishvili, the honorary Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party and the former PM, and his family.
