Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, who is on an official visit to Argentina, on Thursday met representatives of the Georgian diaspora in the country.
The meeting focused on his visit and related results, as well as Georgia's foreign policy priorities and the country's development, the Georgian foreign office said.
The diaspora in Argentina is composed of Georgians who arrived in the country during the Soviet-era repressions, World War II, and a small part who arrived in the 1990s after the restoration of Georgia’s independence.
Darchiashvili thanked the diaspora representatives for “preserving the national identity”.
In the framework of his visit, the official also visited the City Council of Buenos Aires to accept the title of Honorary Guest of Buenos Aires from the body.
