Georgian PM, Gov’t officials attend Novruz celebration in Georgia’s south

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Government officials on Thursday attended celebrations of Novruz Bayram, a Persian traditional holiday, in the southern Georgian city of Marneuli populated mostly by ethnic Azerbaijani citizens of the country.

I am glad to have the opportunity to share this joy with you. Georgians and Azerbaijanis have special warmth and love for each other. Together, we and Azerbaijanis living in Georgia created the history of our country, we created our present success, and we will create our happy future”, Kobakhidze said.

The PM told communities celebrating the date it was a “great happiness that we are connected by such love for each other”.

The Government head also visited an ethnic corner set up on the central street of the city in connection with the celebration to host a display of handicrafts, as well as other sports and cultural activities.
