Enterprise Georgia, the state agency promoting entrepreneurship, investment and exports, on Wednesday said eight Georgian companies had been featured in Alimentaria, an international trade show for food, beverage and gastronomy, in the Spanish city of Barcelona between Monday and Thursday.

The Agency said the event’s edition had marked the first participation of Georgian producers, with over 3,000 exhibitors and 100,000 visitors welcomed to the fair overall.

The body added the Georgian pavilion was set up across a space of over 81 square metres and featured mineral and fresh waters, fruit and vegetable juices, honey, nut products, walnuts, processed fruits and vegetables, spices and medicinal plants.

Within the four-day exhibition, Georgian export-oriented companies had the opportunity to discover the latest trends in the industry, network with other companies from the industry and present their produce to international visitors.

The Agency said participation in the “large-scale” exhibition would help Georgian companies expand their area of export markets and establish connections with potential partners.
