Representatives of the Georgian Government and the United Nations Country Team on Wednesday reviewed Georgia’s progress at the joint Steering Committee of the UN-Georgia Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for the years 2021-2025.

At the meeting, the sides discussed Georgia’s results of 2023 in priority areas of the Cooperation Framework, including good governance, human rights, rule of law, access to better services and inclusive economy, as well as human capital development, assistance to conflict-affected communities, climate action, environment and sustainable use of natural resources.

The conversation also touched on a roadmap towards the development of the next UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework in Georgia for the years 2026-2030, the UN in Georgia said.

The Steering Committee meeting was co-chaired by the UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia, Sabine Machl and Zviad Barkaia, the Deputy Head of the Government Administration.

The UNSDCF, a unified effort by the UN to support Georgia’s development agenda, aims to improve the lives, capabilities and opportunities of all Georgians.
