The prospects of cooperation between Georgia and France in security matters were discussed on Saturday by Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Georgian Parliament and Academician Thierry de Montbrial, the founding president of the French Institute of International Relations.

European security challenges and France’s perspectives on the new European security architecture were in focus of the meeting, with the sides reviewing the current events and security situation in the Black Sea region.

At the meeting held as part of Samkharadze’s official visit to France, the parties addressed the challenging circumstances in Georgia’s occupied territories and the policy of non-recognition of Russian-occupied regions, the Parliament press office said.
