The “high-level” strategic partnership and close cooperation in various fields, including trade and economy, were reviewed on Saturday by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
At the face-to-face meeting held at the Zagulba Presidential Residence within the framework of the Georgian PM’s first visit to Baku, the leaders discussed joint large-scale strategic projects, as well as the prospects of further deepening ties in different directions, including transport and energy.
The importance of peace and stability in the region was emphasised by the sides, with Kobakhidze confirming his Government’s readiness to further contribute to maintaining them in the future, the Government Administration said.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani President for his support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
After the meeting, Aliyev hosted Kobakhidze and the Georgian delegation at an official dinner.
