Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday honoured the memory of the late President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honour, where the national leader and his wife Zarifa Aliyeva are buried, the Government Administration said.
As part of his first official visit to Azerbaijan, Kobakhidze, together with the Georgian delegation, also laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame Memorial in the Alley of Martyrs, paying tribute to the memory of those killed by the Soviet Army during Black January 1990.
Earlier Georgian PM discussed strategic partnership and “successful cooperation” with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ali Asadov, and is set to have face-to-face and extended format meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the Zagulba Presidential Residence.
The delegation, led by the PM, features the country’s Vice PM and Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili and Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili.
