Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Friday highlighted the importance of the Georgia-Turkey-Azerbaijan tripartite cooperation format meeting in Azerbaijan’s capital city of Baku this week for strengthening cooperation in the South Caucasus region.
Darchiashvili noted the format was “making it possible to overcome challenges” in the region with “close coordination” between the three countries.
We will have the opportunity to talk about how to strengthen and deepen diplomatic and interstate relations, [and] economic and trade relations between the three countries, so that there is a very close coordination”, he said.
“We have a lot of challenges and opportunities in the region, and I think it is possible to deal with these challenges and make the most of the opportunities with close coordination”, the official continued.
The meeting is set to be hosted with the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday paying an official visit to Azerbaijan.
