Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and Ignazio Cassis, the Swiss Foreign Minister on Wednesday reviewed the cooperation and the progress achieved by Georgia on its European integration path.
At the meeting, held within the scope of Papuashvili’s visit to Switzerland, the officials noted that the relations between the two countries were “developing intensively” both at the executive and legislative levels, which has been confirmed by the high-level visits in recent years.
Papuashvili thanked Cassis for his support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while also emphasising the importance of Switzerland’s role as a mediator between Tbilisi and Moscow after the 2008 war.
The conversation touched on the current situation in the South Caucasus region, with the Swiss FM expressing his willingness to further support Georgia.
