Activities of Georgia's election administration body over the past year and future cooperation were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the Chair of the Central Election Commission, and John Pennell, the Mission Director for the United States Agency for International Development in the Caucasus. 

The meeting focused on preparations for the 2024 parliamentary elections and introduction of electronic voting technology, the CEC said.

Kalandarishvili reviewed the work carried out for modernisation of elections in 2023, including projects implemented in cooperation with the USAID, and said the ties were “of particular importance”.

The meeting also discussed matters related to informing voters, as well as existing challenges and needs in the context of the 2024 elections.
