Special Investigation Service launches investigation on alleged disclosure of confidentiality of personal information of Georgian singer

Georgia’s Special Investigation Service on Monday announced it was investigating alleged disclosure of confidentiality of personal information following a leak of a video related to Georgian singer Babi Kirkitadze online last week.

The statement comes after Kirkitadze said in a social media post a “fake video” related to her had been shared on internet platforms, adding she would file a lawsuit against those involved.

Imedi TV channel said Kirkitadze was interviewed by investigators at the Service following the leak.

The Service said it would conduct “all necessary investigative and procedural actions” to ensure a “quick and objective” investigation.
