A ceremonial event marking the Italian National Day was held at the Zurab Tsereteli Museum of Modern Art in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi on Friday, organised by the Italian Embassy in the country and Italian Trade Agency.

Guests attending the event were introduced to “true Italian creativity”, the synthesis of tradition and modernity, craftsmanship and technology, as well as beauty and functionality, the Embassy of Italy in Georgia said.

The ceremony involved three exhibitions, including the joint exhibition of the Italian Football Federation and Italian Football Museum of Coverciano on the history of the country’s national football team, as well as Benfatto and photo exhibition Roma Italia Expo 2023 created by the initiative of Italian Foreign Ministry, showcasing the diversity of the Italian capital in terms of fashion, cinema, architecture or technology.

Famous Italian gastronomic products were also featured at the event, with a special menu of the youngest Italian chef awarded with a Michelin star, Matteo Sivero. National anthems of Georgia and Italy were performed by the Rustavi Ensemble, the Georgian State Academic Ensemble.

The event, which was attended by representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of Georgia, various institutions, diplomatic corps, economic, cultural, academic circles and civil society, was held with the support of numerous sponsors and partners.
