Flights between Georgia and Kazakhstan have resumed after a 4-day pause due to civil unrest in Kazakhstan.

About 60 Georgian citizens have arrived to Georgia's Kutaisi airport from Kazakhstan's Aktau and Atyrau airports earlier today.

The mass unrest in Kazakhstan began on January 2 over a doubling in price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the country.

The government of Kazakhstan resigned on January 4, but the protests continued.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has expressed her concern about the situation in Kazakhstan, condemning violence and calling for 'rapid de-escalation.'
