The Emergency Management Service of Georgia has warned the public about the rise in air temperature in Georgia’s east in the coming days, noting the development would increase the risk of forest and field fires.

The Service urged the population to “show high responsibility” and avoid lighting fires on agricultural lands, near forest and fields, and not to leave fire pits unattended.

The body has also issued a warning on leaving household waste in the open environment, saying it could catch spontaneous fire, and called on the public to call the 112 emergency number immediately if they notice smoke or fire.
