As soon as the European Council formally approves the recommendation of the European Commission on granting Georgia a European perspective, the Georgian Government will make sure it does “ not waste a single day” in work on relevant reforms, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said on Thursday.

Speaking at the Georgian Parliament, Garibashvili said the Government needed to continue the reforms “calmly, firmly and wisely" and added the future of the country is “progressive [and] European”.

The Government head also said the ruling Georgian Dream party would “do everything” to maintain “peace, stability and development” in the country.

“If anyone dares to destabilise [the country] in any way, we will use all legal means to safeguard the peace and prosperity of our people”. the PM told lawmakers.
