Russian occupation forces carried out illegal ‘borderisation’ activities near central Georgia’s Gori Municipality village of Zardiantkari, adjacent to the administrative boundary line separating the Government-controlled territory from the Russian-occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region, on Sunday.

Georgia’s State Security Service told local media outlet Interpressnews the European Union Monitoring mission had been informed of the latest activities, which periodically involve occupation forces moving barbed wire fences denoting the occupation line into the Georgian-controlled territory, marking areas as the new ABL, and more.

A dedicated hotline used for occurrences and incidents along the administrative boundary was also activated for the purpose.

The EUMM has monitored areas adjacent to the de-facto lines separating the occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali from the Georgian-controlled territory since 2008.
