Office of Resource Officer marks Int’l Children’s Day with educational activities

The Georgian Education Ministry’s Office of Resource Officer on Wednesday marked the International Children’s Day with educational activities at Tbilisi No. 50 Public School, the Office said.

Gela Geladze, the Head of the Office, visited the school and congratulated the students on the annual date, with the event also attended by representatives of the Council of Europe and the United Nations Women.

The two bodies have been cooperating with the Office, which has been providing psychological assistance, mediation and child protection services at schools over the recent years.

Last week resource officers and social workers from the Centre for Psychosocial Services held meetings with students from various schools. Children received information about their rights, in addition to topics of bullying, healthy lifestyle and tolerance, the Office of Resource Officer said.
