Tamar Gabunia, the First Deputy Health Minister of Georgia, has been elected Vice President of Committee A at the 75th World Health Assembly in Geneva, the Ministry announced on Wednesday.
Gabunia will head the committee that debates technical and health matters and also reviews and approves reports and resolutions submitted to the Assembly, the Ministry said, adding the body included all member countries of the World Health Organization.

Zurab Azarashvili, the Georgian Health Minister, delivered his speech at the event earlier today, during which he expressed his country’s “full solidarity” with Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict, and also spoke of the Georgian Government’s healthcare policy, including its challenges and successes in the field.
Running between May 22-28, the theme of the WHA is Health for Peace, Peace for Health, with the event including discussions of current and future priorities for global public health issues by delegates, representatives of partner organisations, civil society and experts from the WHO.
