Vakhtang Makharoblishvili, the Georgian Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg and the country's Representative to the European Union, on Sunday said the meetings of Foreign Minister Darchiashvili with his European counterparts in Brussels would be "important for gaining the support that our country will need in the coming weeks".
The diplomat said the Foreign Minister's meetings, set to be held in parallel to the gathering of the Foreign Affairs Council of the EU member states, would include those with his French counterpart.
France is the country holding the presidency of the European Union, and the exchange of positions with [the French Minister] will be extremely important in the coming weeks and months", Makharoblishvili said.
The Ambassador also said the main topics of the meetings would be Georgia's relations with the EU, as well as the "difficult" security environment in the Black Sea region.
Darchiashvili will visit Brussels between Monday and Wednesday.
