Explosive ordnance professionals disposed of a mine discovered by locals in central Georgia's Nikozi village, near the administrative line separating Georgian-controlled territory from the occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) province, on Tuesday.

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Georgian service reported on the development from the Gori Municipality village where locals had come across a mine near a residential house close to the boundary denoting the ongoing Russian occupation.

Explosive ordnance disposal professionals called by village residents arrived before moving the device away from residential quarters and detonating it, RFE/RL said citing the State Security Service.
