Georgian citizens over 18 will be able to receive COVID-19 vaccine booster shots

Georgian citizens over the age of 18 will be given a third dose (booster shot) of the COVID-19 vaccine, Georgian Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia announced today.

Individuals will be permitted to receive the booster dose after six months from the second shot of any COVID-19 vaccine.

However, the country’s elderly population, over 60, will be allowed to receive the booster dose after three months from the second shot.

Individuals vaccinated with Sinopharm and Sinovac are able to receive the same vaccines for a booster dose or Pfizer. Those vaccinated with AstraZeneca, are permitted to receive a booster dose of Pfizer after six months from the second shot”, said Gabunia.

 2,010,783 individuals have been vaccinated in Georgia since March 2021, of whom 954,991 have been completely vaccinated.
