Two detained for murder of Georgian social media Feedc co-founder

Police have arrested 21-year-old Ako Chelidze and 22-year-old Giorgi Kiviladze for the murder of co-founder of Georgian social media platform Feedc, Nika Kvaratskhelia. 

The Georgian Interior Ministry says that the detainees preliminarily planned the assassination of Kvaratskhelia and ‘illegally bought firearms, ammunition and rented a car.’ 

Ako Chelidze fired more than 10 shots in the direction of Kvaratskhelia from the firearm and fled the scene of the crime in a rented vehicle with Giorgi Kiviladze, Interior Ministry reports. 

The police announced the opening of the homicide case on September 18, however, the offenders have been hiding until today. 

The crime is punishable by 13 to 17 years of imprisonment.

Nika Kvaratskhelia created Feedc in Georgia, a location-based platform for sharing and discovering local news. It combines various types of information and enables its users to watch TV channels and participate in educational programs.
