Construction of a new landfill has finished in the Black Sea region of Adjara, while two existing landfills in the same region will soon close in the cities of Batumi and Kobuleti.

The new landfill is located in Tsetskhlauri, 45 km north of Batumi and was built as part of the solid waste management project of Adjara. 

A gas extraction system was set up on the territory of the new landfill with a thermal power plant from which it will be possible to receive up to 2 MW of electricity", says the government of Adjara.
