Georgian and Irish Presidents Salome Zurabishvili and Michael Higgins discussed European, regional and global issues during a phone conversation yesterday.
They also spoke on the response to the Covid-19 pandemic and ‘the need to make vaccines available on an equitable basis, to those most in need’.

Congratulating Ireland on its election to the UN Security Council, President Zurabishvili said small countries like Georgia and Ireland 'need to work together to make their voices heard in the face of global challenges'.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili and Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia have held separate meetings with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who has arrived in Tbilisi earlier today. Iranian FM also held a phone conversation with his Georgian counterpart David Zalkaliani who is in self-isolation.
EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar has discussed the situation in the country and the region with the Georgian president, prime minister and parliament members during his visit to Tbilisi.
Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalklaiani has held separate phone conversations with his Turkish, Moldovan and Bulgaria counterparts, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Aureliu Ciocoi and Ekaterina Zaharieva, respectively.
President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili held a phone conversation with her Estonian counterpart President Kersti Kaljulaid yesterday. Zurabishvili, who was the initiator of the call, thanked Kaljulaid for raising the issue of Georgia at her recent meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
