Georgian weightlifter Anton Pliesnoi has claimed a bronze medal at the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Pliesnoi, 24, has completed the competition with a combined result of 387 kg, including 177 kg in snatch and 210 kg in clean and jerk the 96 kg category.

Pliesnoi is one of the 34 athletes competing at the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Looking to provide further incentives for the Georgian athletes, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced each gold medal winner would receive a money prize of one million GEL from the state.

Tokyo Olympic Games, which were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic last year, officially kicked off on July 23.
