Georgian opposition politician Gogi Tsulaia, who was detained for alleged sexual violence in mid-March, has been released on 6,000 GEL bail today.
Gogi Tsulaia was detained after his friend Asmat Dvalishvili accused him of sexual violence. Tsulaia, who does not admit the crime, has faced four to six years of detention.
The opposition politician claims that his detention has been planted after he has openly offended former ruling Georgian Dream party chair Bidzina Ivanishvili’s son - Bera.
I have got a feeling that there are humans in the judiciary who are not slaves and take independent decisions”, Tsulaia said after his release.
Again reiterating that he was a ‘political prisoner’ detained for offending Bera Ivanishvili, Gogi Tsulaia has told journalist that he will 'definitely stay in politics' and 'fight till the end”.
