In Georgia the US official will meet with government, opposition, and civil society leaders ‘to discuss full implementation’ of the EU-mediated April 19 agreement among Georgian political parties as well as Russia’s ongoing aggression against and occupation of Georgia.
Earlier this week US Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Rob Portman have travelled to Georgia to send a bipartisan message that the United States stands with the people of Georgia in their efforts to strengthen their democracy.
