Georgian officials have extended their condolences to the people of Israel where dozens of people died in a stampede at a gathering for the Jewish holiday of Lag B'Omer on Mount Meron yesterday.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has tweeted:
What happened at #MountMeron is a terrible tragedy that hits us all. An absolutely devastating event. To @PresidentRuvi and the people of Israel, the Georgian people keep you in their thoughts during this difficult time. I send my deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones.

Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is also saddened by the tragic accident:

CNN reports that a crush during a religious celebration at Israel's Mount Meron has killed at least 45 worshipers where an estimated 50,000 to 100,000 people had crowded onto the mountain to celebrate the Lag B'Omer holiday on Friday.
