Brother of convicted archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze has announced he and his family will begin releasing evidence of crimes against top Georgian clerics following a refusal to give amnesty by the president.

Tornike Mamaladze stated earlier today that “with the consent of his brother”, who was sentenced to nine years in prison in 2017 for plotting to murder the patriarch’s female secretary Shorena Tetruashvili, ‘evidence about paedophilia, incest and other sins’ will be released gradually starting in the next few days.

He says that top Georgian clerics, including the patriarch, “are involved in the sins.”

Mamaladze says that there are witnesses who are ready to speak openly.

Archpriest Mamaladze says that he never plotted the murder of Tetruashvili, stating that he is a “victim of Tetruashvili and several top clerics who were involved in various violations.”
