US Ambassador, Georgian Parliament Speaker discuss strengthening ties

Georgian Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze met with the new United States Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan after his recent visit to the US. 

[During the working meeting] I shared my opinions [with the US Ambassador], as well as spoke of priorities of our bilateral cooperation and future plans”, Talakvadze wrote on his Facebook. 

Speaker Talakvadze thanked Kelly Degnan for the “high-level support and cooperation” from the US government.

Kelly Degnan officially assumed her duties as new US ambassador to Georgia on January 31. The post has been vacant since March 2018 after Ian Kelly announced his retirement when his mission in Georgia concluded.
