US Congressman Adam Kinzinger, who is one of several congressmen who sent a letter to Georgian PM Giorgi Gakharia over the past several weeks, has tweeted that he had a ‘productive meeting’ with Georgian Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze in Washington, adding that he appreciates 'Talakvadze’s effort to visit and discuss the importance of our alliance.’
Kinzinger said that he discussed the ‘ongoing election-related crisis’ in Georgia with all the parties involved, stating that despite progress achieved there are ‘unresolved difficulties between the opposition and the ruling party.’

He urged for compromises by all parties.
The Georgian parliament speaker and foreign minister have held various meetings in Washington over the past several days, following several critical letters coming from US legislators.
Georgian officials stated that more intense communication was needed with American politicians as they were receiving ‘biased information’ from Georgia.
