In addition to new coronavirus restrictions announced in Georgia today, winter resorts will have other regulations this winter amid the severe epidemiological situation in the country.

In Bakuriani, Gudauri, Goderdzi and Mestia resorts, ski trails and ski lifts will suspend operations starting November 28 through January 31.

Moreover, hotels can only operate at ski resorts for quarantine purposes.

The opening of the Georgian ski resorts for the upcoming winter season depends on the climatic conditions and the epidemiological situation, announced the Mountain Resorts Development Company on November 17.

However, infrastructure has been developing in ski resorts so that when the winter season opens Gudauri and Bakuriani will welcome visitors with new infrastructure.

Meanwhile, in Gudauri, the company Mountain Resorts Solutions together with its European partner companies TAS by MND, Stem and Wucher Helicopter are developing safety systems across the Kobi-Gudauri ski area to avoid avalanches and ensure both safe skiing and extend the number of skiing days.
