The head coach of the Georgian national football team Vladimir Weiss said at a press conference after the match between Georgia and North Macedonia that he will resign after two matches.
My job is done. My time is up. Thanks to Georgian fans, players and journalists. It was not easy, but it was a very good five years of my life. We are sad”, Weiss said.
After yesterday's 0-1 defeat against North Macedonia, Weiss apologised for the game.
We are all feeling bad, it is my responsibility. I want to apologise. It was an unlucky day. We wanted to make everyone happy, but we are all sad”, stated Weiss at a press conference.

After Weiss’s statement some Georgian journalists left the press conference in protest.
Sport reporters think that the Slovak head coach made ‘unforgivable tactical mistakes during the match, he didn’t substitute players on time, and did nothing to save the lost game’.
After the match with North Macedonia, Georgia lost its chance to play in the European Championship in June 2021.
Vladimir Weiss will leave Georgian football team after two matches scheduled for November 15 and 18.
