Imedi TV commissioned exit poll puts ruling party at 55% of the vote

The US Public Opinion Strategies has released exit polls commissioned by Imedi TV as of 6 p.m. which says that the ruling Georgian Dream party will receive 55 per cent of votes in the proportional elections. 

The results of the exit-polls are as follows: 

  • Georgian Dream-55%
  • United National Movement- united opposition election bloc- 23%
  • European Georgia-3%
  • Lelo for Georgia-3%
  • Alliance of Patriots-3%
  • Strategy Builder-3%
  • Girchi-3%
  • Labour Party-1%
  • Nino Burjanadze Democratic Movement-United Georgia-1%
  • Aleko Elisashvili Citizens-1%
  • Other parties-4%

An election bloc or party which receives less than 40.54 per cent of votes (less then 76 seats in the 150-member parliament) in the proportional elections will not be able to form a government. 

Unlike previous elections, the parties which will receive at least one per cent of total votes will be allowed into parliament.
