The UK PM Boris Johnson has sent a letter to Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia and thanked him for the participation in the Global Vaccine Summit on June 4.

Johnson thanked Gakharia for his leadership and commitment to work with the international community in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and preventable deaths.

Georgia has been praised on a number of occasions in recent months by the international community for its effective fight against the coronavirus.

Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had just 831 cases of the coronavirus, with the virus killing 13 individuals.

As of today 121 people remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia.

After being recovered at the end of April, Johnson said that the virus nearly killed him.
