Georgian criminal boss Mindia Lavasogly (Goradze) may be extradited to Georgia from Turkey as Georgia has already requested his extradition.
The family members and relatives of Lavasogly have held several rallies in Batumi earlier this month, demanding his extradition ‘due to poor conditions in the Turkish prison and serious health issues the man suffers from.’
Several individuals were detained during the rallies as they tried to block a street and disobeyed to police.
Lavasogly was sentenced to 12 years in prison in absentia for the membership in the criminal underworld by the Georgian court back in 2018.
The same year, Lavasogly who was wanted by Interpol, was detained in Trabzon, Turkey, having a firearm in his car.
Lavasogly’s family members have come to Georgia’s Chief Prosecutor’s Office earlier today to familiarise themselves with extradition procedures.
